I have begun my year, having a huge amount of energy to change our learning space. After attending learning at schools, I realized that our school is a great platform, as we are well resourced and have experts that are willing to help. In our awhina space my colleague and I are collaboratively teaching. We have set up our huge learning space with the basic areas, computer area, reading corner, maths area. We also have 3 classrooms that will fill as our numbers grow. At present one is set up for PMP activities, and the other I want to set up with role play resources. I have big! ideas in the pipeline, however I want the children to be very much a part of setting this up, so I am wanting their input before we begin creating. We have begun using the cameras the mimio and the flip cam in our learning. We have 2 classrooms computers as well as 2 lap tops for the children's use. We use the data projector where ever possible and with fantastic websites like study ladder and our wikispace we are able to make our programme interactive and engaging. I have finally created a wiki!!!! and have really enjoyed adding sites and relevant information that children and their parents can access. I have found it really quite simple and I feel quite proud of myself :) I would love some help designing areas within our learning space as we have large sliding doors, windows and access to other rooms off ours, so it makes it difficult (but not impossible!) watch this space.
